Taranaki gardener Junior Eraio's secret compost recipe for giant vege. Of you live alone and grow lots of vegetables, there likely comes a time when the surplus is a little overwhelming. This used to the case for Junior Eraio, especially with his carrots, which have always been a prolific crop in his garden at Kapuni, South Taranaki. Then one day a chance conversation with a fellow vege grower set him on a different path. "The lady said that carrot juice was easy to make and very tasty, so I bought a juicer on the way home and tried it out that afternoon. I was hooked after the first glassful," he recalls.
