Wherever you go in the world these days you're never far from a Kiwi. Most of us have met a fellow country person somewhere on our travels. On our way to Costa Rica via the US recently we met a tanned lifeguard called Rick, on patrol at Malibu Beach in LA. Rick has a place in Puhoi and friends we know back home here in Piha! Ah, Piha... where we left our peaking vege garden for five weeks in the steamy tropics of Central America. Costa Rica is the most biologically intense place on the planet. Journey to the cloud forest of Monteverde, north-west of the capital city San Jose, and you can see why.
