On 1 November 2008 at approximately 15.00-16.00 h, numerous individuals of Pryeria sinica were observed in flight in Fairfax, Virginia, USA. Adults also were observed the previous and following weeks (i.e. on 26 October and 7 November). Dozens of individuals were present, both males and females, on ornamental shrubs, some of which were P. sinica's recorded host plant (Euonymus sp.). However, individuals were also found on non-host species, such as ornamental juniper when the bushes were in the vicinity of Euonymus. Intraspecific interactions were observed among individuals on all substrates. Most of the interactions were initiated by males and focused on gaining access to females ready to mate. The mated females were also observed to lay their eggs in clutches on Euonymus stems, usually close to shoots. The females placed a cover of scales on top of the eggs, presumably to discourage predation. After the egg-laying, females have noticeably fewer black hairs in the tuft at the end of the abdomen.
