A pathophysiology bank: investing in clinical nursing education.

摘要

The challenge to adequately prepare students to provide safe, quality care for clinical experiences is a formidable one. Student nurses, as novices, must learn how to use the wealth of information delivered in curricula and available via the Internet for optimal patient care delivery. In an effort to assist students in learning how to identify, use, and evaluate the explosion of information available for patient care in a timesaving manner, a pathophysiology (patho) bank was developed in a large BSN college of nursing. The patho bank is a shared student-developed, collaborative resource enabling students to prepare for the clinical experience through readily available access to current, high-level information on pathophysiologic conditions.
