摘要

This is a description of the evolution of NMR,from its beginning to the present developments and applications,in relation with the tools and concepts available at each time.NMR,now mostly a tool of very diverse applications,in majority for chemistry and medicine,is essentially a discipline of physics.Each of its developments necessitated a complex and mostly abstract theoretical elaboration,which however lead,side by side with fundamental physical advances,to an enormous variety of practical uses,whose underlying basis is not always mastered by their practitioners.However,it works.
