摘要

The use of xenografts is a potential solution to the growing shortage of human organs in clinical transplantation. Considerable research effort is being directed toward achieving this goal. Baboons and pigs are being investigated as potential organ donors for humans. Furthermore, the pig-to-baboon organ transplant model has become the standard preclinical experimental model as a surrogate for the pig-to-human model.
