Cut costs and cut them now delegates were told at a conference in November, held at Cranfield University, Silsoe by the Soil and Water Management Specialist Group of the IAgrE. Enthusiastically chaired by the NFU President Ben Gill, the conference entitled 'Profitable cereals - reducing established costs' received presentations from farmers, machinery manufacturers and academics on methods of reducing tillage and establishment costs whilst maintaining output and profit margins.
