Altus Corp.'s name is derived from the Latin word meaning 'high'. However, right now, Altus - and its future - are apparently simply 'up in the air'. The Chicago-based functional-food joint venture between Novartis Consumer Health AG and Quaker OatsCo., as well as its business partners, are awaiting the results of change in the company's top executive position. Altus is also evaluating the results of the test-marketing it performed over the last six months on its first product lines - separate families of nutrition-packed breakfast foods and beverages known as Take Heart and Women's Individual Nutrition (WIN).
