Along one of the many meandering roads that wind their way through the western Wisconsin valleys near River Falls sits Three Cedar Farm, the home of Ted Beverly and Rick Chrustowski. The 5-acre property, set amid the remnants of a 19th century farmstead, has nearly an acre devoted to a number of distinct gardens—each representing a diverse range of both design and plant material. Rick is an author and illustrator of children's books; Ted owns a gardening business and has written extensively about their garden. (See his article on eight great perennials for the late-season garden on page 26.)
