All sectors of the maritime industry are under a global spotlight like never before as pressure mounts to decarbonise shipping. New regulations continue to come into force to reduce emissions, setting ambitious targets to drive greener operations and reduce the industry's environmental impact. All stakeholders in the shipping supply chain must now face up to this reality and explore ways of driving operational and environmental efficiencies to improve the sustainability and commerciality of transporting goods worldwide. Further legislation coming in January 2024, marking the shipping industry's entry to the EU's Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), will put a price on carbon for the maritime sector.
