摘要

This special issue of Life Sciences is devoted to recent research on cannabis (marijuana), the natural cannabinoids found in the Cannabis Sativa plant, and synthetic cannabinoid compounds. Most of the papers in this volume were presented at an International Symposium on Cannabis and the Cannabinoids in L'Esterel, Quebec, Canada in July of 1994, a satellite symposium of the International Union of Pharmacology. Several other papers were solicited by the editors. The symposium was organized and sponsored by the International Cannabis Research Society (ICRS). The purposes of the ICRS are to foster research on all aspects of Cannabis Sativa, to hold scientific meetings and to present and discuss research developments in the field. [References: 24]
