However, while the market looks to be on the cusp of a further breakdown, the failure of prices to follow through below $3.80 with much conviction suggests that a rebound might soon be on tap. Still, November gas futures would need to see multiple closes above $4 to illicit a short-covering rally. "There's a ton of bearish sentiment in the market right now, almost everyone is focused on non-existent demand and growing storage," said a gas trader in Ohio. "Yet no one wants to sell down the market from these levels, which smells of a looming short-squeeze."
