The primary goal of ship management is to provide ship owners with effective ship operation, at the same time, to ensure optimum cost effective performance. To achieve this, John Barcy, the Senior System Analyst of Fleet Management Limited introduced PARIS - the Planning and Reporting Infrastructure (Ship), as an effective solution to ship management. It is believed that Fleet Management Limited is the first company in the world to have a fully distributed two-way synchronizing maritime system covering all aspects of on board ship management.
