The Optics of Liquid Crystals 2015 was held in Sopot, Poland, from 13 to 18 September 2005. The venue of the conference was the charming and welcoming Grand Hotel Sopot, in a pleasant beach in the Baltic Sea. The place was propitious for the scientific discussions and the informal contact between the participants of the meeting. Professor Dr. Janusz Parka (Figure 1), from Military University of Technology and Warsaw University of Technology, was the Chairman of the conference.
