摘要

Leaf litter under three communities showed variations with respect to nutrient concentrations. Elements in order of their relative abundance in leaf litter were Ca>N>Mg>K>P. The chemical composition of litter seems to be a species characteristics. Nitrogen concentration in the leaf litter of Tectona grandis varied from 0.57 percent to 1.90 percent, in Cleistanthus collinus from 0.47 percent to 1.71 percent and in Terminalia tomentosa from 0.43 percent to 1.65 percent. The leaf litter production ranged from 3032.60 to 8731.10 kg/ha in the three plant communities. Plant diversity indices were also worked out for the vegetation.
