This report presents highly elastic rail supports and rails encased in elastomers for light-rail systems. Where trams run through the centres of towns and cities, it is particularly important to minimise the nuisance caused by noise and vibrations. This applies, for instance, where lines pass by schools, hospitals, opera houses and churches. For situations like these, ThyssenKrupp GfT Gleistechnik GmbH has developed two new systems: Whisper Rail and Delta Fastener.
