The safety of dangerous goods transported by rail is a matter of high-level concern, and how this safety is to be assured is laid down internationally in the Regulations concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID). Responsible chemical companies, in particular, are now, however, demanding that tank wagons be protected with measures that are even further-reaching.
