GSM-R (the Global System for Mobile Communications - Railways) is, thanks to its uniform standard, making a crucial contribution to the interoperability of the railway systems in Europe. This magazine has already published one report on the subject of "international roaming" [1]. Our latest report examines how border crossings work in practice between various GSM-R networks [2].
