Cytec Industries Inc. has introduced a new acrylated polyurethane dispersion for UV curable field applied matt coatings, suitable for use on wood, vinyl and vinyl composition tile (VCT).Cytec say that there is increasing demand for lower gloss floor coatings that require less maintenance and provide a more durable surface than waterborne acrylic copolymers. This market demand has led to the development of UCECOAT~R 7891 based floor coatings. They are said to offer a uniform, transparent matt appearance and exhibit a good balance of flexibility and hardness, thus providing good adhesion and coin resistance. Excellent solvent and chemical resistance are also claimed to be provided.
