摘要

We thank Trevisanuto and his colleagues for their comment on our feasibility study of epinephrine administration via laryngeal mask airway (LMA). Trevisanuto et al. administered surfactant via a catheter through the LMA in four preterm infants, and found that surfactant therapy failed to improve the mean arterial-to-alveolar oxygen tension ratio (a/AO_2). They assumed that the diminished response was due to poor positioning of the catheter tip. Their opinion was in agreement with the result of our article that a catheter correctly positioned via the LMA into the trachea could help to improve the effect of drug sprayed.
