摘要

New high-strength steel grades in combination with modern joining techniques contribute to optimize properties of the joints. After discussing the potentialities of the use of laser welded tailored blanks, the main joining techniques applicable to high strength steel sheets are reviewed : laser welding, spot welding, weld bonding and mechanical joining techniques. The effect of various parameters of these processes on fatigue and crash behaviour of experimental joints is illustrated. Advantages and limitations of heatless joining techniques are discussed.
