The thin strip casting processdeveloped by the Myosotis Project has now reached alevel raising the question of an industrialization.The last improvements deal with the optimizationof mould hydrodynamics, the lateral confinement andthe casting rolls thermomechanics.Several sequences with a duration of more than 4 hhave been cast at the Isbergues plant. The maximumduration is 5 h, i.e. 225 tons and nearly 11 km of steelstrip with 865 mm wide rolls.The surface quality obtained after cold processing is suitable forsaleable applications (decoration tubes, etc.).
