A reader e-mailed me last week to express the following sentiment: "I've been subscribing to Rock & Gem for several years now and I've noticed that the amount of articles and space given towards the lapidary end seems to continually increase. Having an article or two for those interested in this is fine, such as your Craftsman of the Month or occasional articles on what individuals can do with various minerals or rocks they have.... I just hope a greater focus on the rock, mineral and occasional fossil articles I've seen is given.... For those who enjoy lapidary work, there are many different magazine options out there, but for those of us primarly interested in learning about various rocks and minerals and the locations they are found, our options are limited."
