French tyre major Michelin's upcoming ! manufacturing facility near Chennai, with ! a total capacity of 450,000 tonnes of radial tyres, will be the Group's largest in the world. The plant is currently under construction and will begin production in November 2012, rolling out about 300,000 tonnes of radial truck tyres in the first year, said Nicolas Beaumont, President and Managing Director, Michelin India Tamil Nadu Tyres. The Rs. 40,000 million Chennai facility will hire about 1,500 people in the initial phase.
