Vietnam has beaten Malaysia and India to emerge as the third largest producer of natural rubber in the world in 2012, according to IRSG estimates. In its latest Rubber Industry Report, IRSG estimates Vietnam's NR production at 987,000 tonnes in 2012, while Malaysia and India produced 921,000 tonnes and 908,000 tonnes respectively in 2012. Vietnam Rubber Association(VRA), however, estimates Vietnam's NR production in 2012 to be still higher at 1.01 million tonnes.
