World rubber consumption recorded a modest growth of 1.4 per cent to 26.78 million tonnes in 2015, in tandem with the moderate growth of the world economy and lower consumption by China, according to the latest Rubber Industry Report of the International Rubber Study Group (IRSG). The total rubber consumption in 2014 stood at 26.40 million tonnes. China's rubber consumption declined by 1.1 per cent to 8.89 million tonnes during the year as against 8.99 million tonnes in 2014.
