Japan's economy contracted by an annualized 2.3% in the three months ended December 31, 2012, as exports slid on weakness in global demand and strength in the yen. Japan's economy shrank an annu-alised 3.5% in the third quarter of 2012, the steepest decline since the earthquake-hit first quarter of 2011.
