That, in essence, was a major message delivered by a broad array of national co-op leaders when USDA Rural Development held a public hearing in October togather ideas on where to focus its co-op research efforts. A new database is critical to the future of the nation's cooperatives and for showing their impact on the rural and national economy. Such a database will become the foundation for future co-opresearch, they said.
