摘要

The local generation of electricity, particularly in the form of combined heat and power (CHP) schemes, is currently developing under favorable conditions in a number of countries and especially in France. The number of current R&D programmes andprototype systems being demonstrated indicates that commercial development of small-scale generators (less than 100 kWe) is likely during the next few years. One of the target market sectors for these generators is micro-CHP systems supplying one or moredomestic users. Any significant growth in this sector will be reflected in a corresponding increase in systems feeding power into the low voltage distribution network, and this is likely to give rise to operational problems.
