摘要

We study a problem on improvement of aerodynamic characteristics of an airfoil by introduction of a permeable section, where the distributed suction of a boundary layer (BL) is executed. We set and solve the problem of minimization of the sum of airfoil aerodynamic drag coefficients for two extreme angles of attack provided that the separation of a boundary layer is absent. We show numerically that the boundary layer separation is absent throughout the entire range of angles of attack. We present some examples of improving the aerodynamic airfoil characteristics and demonstrate the effectiveness of using boundary layer suction.
