Continuous improvement of vehicle design materials is critical for meeting technical challenges and market mandates for fuel efficiency, emissions control and reduced costs in today's global automotive industry. Advances in proven materials, rather than development of all-new technologies, quite often can provide the right problem-solving answers for evolving performance or cost requirements. That is the case with versatile fluorosilicone elastomers from Dow Corning. This special class of silicone polymers is commonly used in vehicle components that require reliable fuel and oil resistance across a wide service temperature range.
