A method for intensifying copper anodes production at the Legnica Copper Smelter and the results obtained have been presented. Results of industrial tests carried out in technological conditions at the Copper Electro-refining Plant of the GLOGOW I and II Copper Smelters, using increased current densities and reduced distance between electrodes in electrolytic tanks, have been described. The conditions to be met in order to intensify electro-refining process in these plants, to ensure high quality of the cathodes produced and to obtain beneficial technological indices, have been specified.
