Gasification offers the advantage of being able to convert agricultural waste into fuels, alleviating the food vs fuel pressure on food crops. However, the high capital investment and large quantities of raw materials needed are obstacles to be overcome before the process can start becoming a major force in biof uels. Sean Milimo writes.
