Results of field hydrophysical measurements of a suspension flow are presented. An analysis of the evolution of the turbulent diffusivity distribution over depth and along the flow axis is undertaken. A theoretical description of these distributions involves the influence of the features of exchange in the shear layers and in the core of the flow on the diffusivity profiles. Longitudinal distributions of the Schmidt numbers in the mixing layers and in the near-bottom one are obtained. A strong dependence of the admixture activity in the mixing layer of a suspension flow on the ratio of the evlocities of the flow and of suspended paraticle precipitation is revealed. A semiempirical expression for the Schmidt number describing this dependence with account taken for the changes in the hydrodynamical stability is formulated.
