摘要

Data on the distribution and variability of phosphates obtained in the eastern part of the Black Sea are discussed.It is shown that the particular vertical distribution of phosphates (the so-called "dipole" or alternation of minimum and maximum near the H_2S boundary) is subjected to the influence of seasonal and synoptic variability.Two areas can be defined in the study region:the offshore area with a relatively stable structure and the near-shore area with significant variations in the distribution of phosphates.The near-shore area (approx 10 to 40 miles from the shore) with more intense hydrophysical dynamics and dominant anticyclonic turbulence of currents is characterized by a special distribution of phosphates.The concentrations of phosphates in the upper minimum regularly increase in the landward direction.The PO_4 maximum (sigma_(theta)= 16.2 kg/m~3) below the H_2S boundary shows an inverse trend:the contents of phosphates in this layer decrease landward.
