From the 2nd to the 8th April 2001 the 26th International Construction Machinery Exhibition (BAUMA) took place in Munich. The significance of hydraulic drives and controls as the most important method of energy transmission in construction machinery was evident this year also. In addition to a multitude of new machines and others incorporating new developments there were also a number of new products and innovative concepts to he seen in the hydraulic field. This article provides a survey of trends and innovations in hydraulic systems for construction machinery.
