I don't need to tell members of HortNZ that horticulture is one of New Zealand's most important and fastest growing export sectors. This growth is not likely to slow down any time soon, with growing global demands for high quality, premium fruit and vegetables offering significant opportunities for New Zealand producers. Markets such as those in Asia are of particular focus for New Zealand, and China is high on the list of priorities. China is now New Zealand's second largest trading partner and second largest export market, with exports now worth $4 billion each year.
