Working with an agreed marketing strategy within the Horticukure Export Authority framework has helped the kiwifruit industry deal with a complex marketing challenge in Australia. The benefits of forming a product group under the HEA for specific parts of an industry is a talking point in the pipfruit industry, in the context of finally gaining access to the Australian market and also as a means of addressing challenges for a couple of varieties. The kiwifruit to Australia export marketing strategy has been in place for seven years now, with 15 exporters registered.
