It's taken 10 years of negotiations but Tasmania has finally exported cherries directly to China.The quarantine departments of Australia and China signed market access protocol on January 7 and a final industry audit was done by Chinese officials a week later to complete the process. The first 20-tonne shipment of product was air freighted to Melbourne soon after and landed in Beijing on January 16.
