There is an unusual apple, one which has been subject of HortReseach evaluation and also relates to a century-old discovery and story of an unnamed seedless, coreless, blossomless apple presented to an English monarch. The apple is Rae Ime, which along with Wellington Bloomless and Spencer Seedless falls into the seedless and bloomless parthenocarpic category. These apples have beguiling attributes which, unfortunately, have not translated into commercially viable produce.
