The reactions of 1:1 mixtures of the isotetrasilane MeSi(SiMe_2Cl)_3 and organo group 14 trichlorides RMCl_3 (R = Me, Ph; M = Si, Ge, Sn) with Li_2E (E = S, Se, Te) in THF yielded the new bicyclo[2.2.2]octanes MeSi(SiMe_2E)_3MR (2-4). The products were identified by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy. Trends of the NMR data are discused. The molecular structures of MeSi(SiMe_2S)_3GeMe (2c), MeSi(SiMe_2SeI)_3SiMe (3a), MeSi(SiMe_2Se)_3GeMe (3c), and MeSi(SiMe_2Se)_3SnMe (3e) are reported.
