In November 2012, a fourth edition of one of the UK’s mostly widely used electrical safety guidance documents was issued by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). Critically the IET’s Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment, is very widely used to support Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and inspection in the workplace, a legal obligation under the 1989 Electricity at Work Regulations.
