The Indian government recently published an order outlining conformity and self declaration rules for producers and importers of electrotechnical and information technology products within its jurisdiction. Promulgated on 7 September, the new rules are set to become effective 6 months after they are published in the official gazette of the Indian government, which is due soon. They will be enforced by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITY).
