The paper will present technical results from recent applications of innovative-engineered composite cores for bridges and ground matting systems. The sandwich core designs are based on patented Fiber Reinforced Cores (FRC) used in infusion molding process. Examples will include a vehicular bridge deck recently installed in Summit County, Ohio and an airfield mat development program in which deployable panels placed on soft soil are subjected to high concentrated wheel loads. Laboratory and field test data will be presented.
