In Part I of this series, we learned that materials utilized in the construction of aircraft, mass transit rail and bus, autos, marine vessels, electrical components, and building & construction (to name a few) must meet stringent standards for limiting Fire, Smoke and Toxicity (FST). FST requirements were developed and implemented over many decades primarily as a result of catastrophic fatality incidents, in an effort to prevent loss of life in similar scenarios.
