Oil and Gas Production using floating production,storage and offloading(FPSO)systems continue to become more popular worldwide,however it is also becoming increasingly evident that globally pressures to reduce environmental emissions are becoming more demanding.Operators are also seeking cost reduction and improved revenue.Yet operators world wide continue to vent valuable hydrocarbons to the atmosphere from most FPSO operations.This article examines the use of hydrocarbon gas blanketing to reduce environmental emission,increased production,and reduced long term maintenance costs.
