The Army has set the right conditions for a decision on the future of the Armed Aerial Scout platform that is both critical to success of our forces and in urgent need of investment. That decision represents an opportunity to significantly bolster a critical component of tactical support to intelligence operations. The right answer is very clear. The value proposition represented by a new AAS platform, rather than yet another incremental upgrade, is the best course of action. There can be no greater urgency or mandate than the provision of needed capability for the outstanding aircrews that make up our aviation force and those that they support.
