Under the agro-climatic conditions of Uttaranchal state, twenty-five genotypes of chilli were evaluated for growth and yield attributes during spring-summer season of 1999-2000 at Vegetable Research Centre, Patherchatta, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. Significant variations among the geno-types were recorded. The range of plant height varied from 65.5 to 92.3 cm. Maximum primary branches/plant were recorded in AC 543 (18.8). Maximum fruit length was noted in AC 423 (11.7 cm) and it was lowest in AC 422 (3.20 cm). On the other hand fruit periphery ranged from 1.60 to 4.36 cm. Fruit number/plant varied between 134 to 324. Highest fruit weight/ plant was observed in AC 542(614g) followed by AC 517 (575.7g) and AC 465 (562.7g), which was 166.9, 150.3 and 144.7% higher over check cultivar JCA 283.
