Diversa Corporation, San Diego, Calif., will play a significant role in the Integrated Corn-Based. Bioproducts Refinery project, as evidenced in this S&C interview with Patrick McCroskey, Diversa's Senior Director, Business Development. McCroskey: Diversa Corporation accesses biomolecules from nature's biodiversity and applies screening and evolution technologies to develop commercial products for agricultural, chemical, industrial and pharmaceutical applications. The company's proprietary technology platform includes capabilities for sample collection from uncultured microbial populations (representing more than 99 percent of all microbial life on earth), generation of gene expression libraries, screening of these libraries using ultra-high throughput methods capable of analyzing billions of genes per day and biomolecule and bioprocess optimization via gene, gene pathway and whole cell evolution strategies.
