摘要

Microstructural evolution during superplasticdeformation of a fine grained 7475 Al alloy is manifested byconsiderable grain elongation along the stress axis and theformation of dispersoid free zone in the vicinity of grainboundaries perpendicular to the stress axis. The presentexperimental findings and the analysis reveal that the abovemicrostructural evolution is associated with diffusional processes.In addition, it is suggested that grain elongation is mainlyattributed to the cooperative process of the formation ofdispersoid free zone due to diffusional processes and locallyenhanced plastic deformation at relatively soft dispersoid free zone.
